MRCP UK Part 1

The MRCP Part 1 assesses a comprehensive range of medical knowledge, skills, and conduct outlined in the UK Specialty Training Curriculum for Core Medical Training/Internal Medicine Training. MRCP UK Part One marks the initial stage in a series of evaluations designed to align with the advancement of trainees enrolled in the UK's Core Medical Training/Internal Medical Training program. It supplements prior assessments by introducing distinctive content and enhancing the learning trajectory.

Eligibility for MRCP UK Part 1

The MRCPUK Part 1 is the initial exam available to physicians with a minimum of 12 months of postgraduate experience in medical practice.

MRCP part 1 Application must be done within the opening and closing dates.

UK-based candidates can appear in online exams from their homes. However, from the 2023/4 diet, International students must appear for centre-based exams.

MRCP Part 1 Exam format

 

The MRCP Part 1 exam pattern is structured to assess a candidate's knowledge of the clinical sciences

  • MRCP 1 Exam is a One-day exam
  • Two Papers, three-hour each
  • 100 multiple-choice, best-of-five questions per Paper
  • In the MRCP Part 1 marking system, the correct answer is awarded +1 mark, with No negative marking for wrong answers
  • No images based Question will be asked in the MRCP part 1 Exam
  • Computer-based, at a test centre internationally or online via a proctoring service in the UK.
